Volunteers are required to be available from the morning of Saturday, July 4th, the day before the tournament starts, and depart together with the other participants on Sunday, July 12th.
Possible volunteering roles include assisting with tournament and event setup, acting as guides for the teams, and serving as fight assistants during Physics Fights. And you are of course invited to join the participants for the opening and farewell party as well as to watch your favorite teams compete in the Physics Fights.
Meals will be provided for the duration of the whole tournament. Volunteers arriving from abroad on Friday, July 3rd, will be provided with accommodation from Friday onwards. Travel to and from Zurich is not covered by the organizers.

Accommodation will be provided in three places:
Participants will be staying at Zurich Youth Hostel (Mutschellenstrasse 114, 8038 Zürich) together with one team leader. There will be 2 to 6-bedrooms, with or without private bathroom. Towels will be provided.
Jurors and everyone else will be staying at either Hotel Meininger (Maneggstrasse 41, 8041 Zurich), or The Home Hotel (Kalandergasse 1, 8045 Zürich).
The IYPT 2026 in Zurich offers a week filled with physics, culture, and unforgettable experiences. Beyond the competition itself, participants will enjoy a program designed to foster international friendships.

The dates for the IYPT 2026 have been set: Sunday, July 5 (arrival day) to Sunday, July 12 (departure day).
The IOC meeting will take place from Sunday, July 12 until Tuesday, July 14 (departure day).
The delegations are organized by the individual countries participating in the IYPT.
